~WELCOME~
My name is Shasta Harville, and I am a DONA trained Birth Doula and DONA member. I'm here to provide my Labor support to families and pregnant mothers in the greater Santa Rosa area. I also volunteer my services at our local Woman's Health and Birth Center in Santa Rosa, and with Better Beginnings at Sutter Hospital.
I am very passionate about what I do and love being able to be a part of such a beautiful transformation as birth. My goal is to offer the laboring mother and her partner my best Informational, physical and emotional support before, during and after labor.
I Believe that with a clear understanding of her childbirth options, a mother is able to make informed choices. I am committed to supporting whatever choices a mother makes for the birth of her baby.
Allowing the mother to make her own decisions during pregnancy and labor will help make childbirth a satisfying experience that has many benefits. Not only will her recovery after labor be quicker, she will bond better with her infant, and as a result, become a more confident mother.
There are additional benefits of a Doula's services which extend to the birth partner as well. The education of the birth partner during the pregnancy and the continuous presence of the Doula during labor will encourage the birth partner to participate at his/her own comfort level. During a long labor the Doula will ensure the birth partner has the rest and nourishment they need.
You deserve a doula!

"Birth is not only about making babies. Birth is about making mothers ~ strong, competent, capable mothers who trust themselves and know their inner strength."
